Your files
Every tool on this site currently processes files entirely in your browser, using WebAssembly and native browser APIs. Your file is read into your browser's memory, the conversion runs on your device, and the result downloads directly to your device. At no point is a file you select uploaded to any server. This applies to every tool currently live on the site. None of them use a server fallback. If that changes for a specific tool in the future (for very large files or a format that genuinely can't be processed client-side), that tool's own page will say so explicitly.
Accounts and storage
There are no user accounts on this site. Files you select or process are not uploaded to or stored on Kit-Bin servers, and Kit-Bin does not maintain a database of user files.
Analytics
This site does not currently run any analytics or tracking script. If aggregate, cookieless usage analytics (page views, general device/location category, not individual tracking) are added in the future, this section will be updated to say so before that happens.
Advertising
Kit-Bin shows a small number of standard banner advertisements, served by HilltopAds, to help cover hosting and development costs. These are static banner ads, not video, not audio, and not a full-screen interstitial. They never appear inside a file drop area or in a way that could be mistaken for part of a tool.
After a tool finishes processing your file, and only if you have accepted advertising cookies, the download button is covered by a short 10-second panel showing a gradient countdown ring and one video advertisement, also served by HilltopAds, before the button becomes clickable. This is the one place on the site a video ad is shown — everywhere else, ads are the static banners described above. Your file is never reprocessed or held back during this wait; it was already finished before the countdown started, and the 10-second wait itself runs on a fixed timer independent of the video, so a slow or unavailable ad never extends it. If you have declined advertising cookies, or have not yet chosen, this step does not happen at all and the download button is available immediately.
Once you click that download button to take your finished file, and only if you have accepted advertising cookies, a single additional HilltopAds advertisement opens in a new background browser tab. This happens once per visit, only from that click, and only after your file is already downloading — never during upload, processing, or the countdown described above.
None of HilltopAds' advertising resources are requested at all until you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, or before you choose either way, no advertising script or advertising cookie loads, and every tool continues to work exactly the same either way. You can change your choice at any time using Privacy and cookie settings in the footer, which also removes any advertising already loaded on the page.
Once loaded, HilltopAds and its advertising partners may use cookies, pixels, or similar technologies for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention, and where permitted, limited personalization. This is entirely separate from how your files are handled: the advertiser is never given a file's name, contents, or any conversion setting, because the advertising code has no access to the file-processing code at all. The banner ads run in an isolated frame. The download-gate video ad runs directly in a standard HTML video player rather than an isolated frame, since a video element requires direct access to the page to play — it only ever requests and plays a video ad, and is never given anything related to your file. The post-download advertisement opens in its own separate browser tab and has no access to this page at all.
Google AdSense is not active on Kit-Bin yet. This section will be updated with the details above before AdSense is enabled.
Your rights under GDPR (UK & EEA visitors)
Kit-Bin is built to need as little of your personal data as possible: your files are processed entirely in your own browser and never uploaded (see Your filesabove), and the site runs no analytics or account system. The only personal data Kit-Bin's advertising can involve is what HilltopAds itself may collect — via cookies, pixels, or similar technologies — once you have actively opted in through the cookie banner, as described in Advertising above. Advertising is opt-in, not opt-out: no advertising cookie is set and no advertising request is made until you accept.
If you are in the UK, EEA, or Switzerland, you have the right to: know what personal data is processed and why (this page); withdraw consent to advertising at any time, with immediate effect, via Privacy and cookie settings in the footer; request access to, correction of, or erasure of personal data that a third party such as HilltopAds holds about you, by contacting that provider directly, since Kit-Bin itself does not hold or store any profile about you; and lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe your rights have not been respected.
Because Kit-Bin never uploads, stores, or has a mechanism to identify the files you process, there is no file-related personal data for Kit-Bin to provide, correct, or erase on request — that data never reaches Kit-Bin in the first place. Requests about advertising data should go to HilltopAds directly, as Kit-Bin does not have access to or control over what that provider retains once an ad has been served.
